Passport and Travel Documents

A passport is strongly recommended as a form of ID on boarding day for U.S Citizens. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the end of the sail. The name on your passport should match the name on your reservation.

Los Angeles World Cruise Center Address

The cruise will embark from the Los Angeles World Cruise Center at 100 Swinford Street, San Pedro, CA, 90731

Air Travel

Experts recommend flying in one day before embarkation for domestic flights and two days before for international flights to alleviate travel issues related to delayed flights and missing luggage. Sara Matthews with Explorer’s Travel Advantage can assist to ensure a smooth transition from air travel to cruise ship and is available at (253)325-9983.

Los Angeles Airport Options

There are five major airports in Southern California, each with pros and cons when connecting with a cruise. Below are the top three rated options based on travel experts:

Long Beach Airport (LGB) is the closest airport to the World Cruise Center in San Pedro (20-30 mins Uber/Lyft ride to port). It is a smaller and easier airport to navigate but has limited flights available.

Los Angeles International (LAX) is the largest airport in the area. It will offer the most flight options, but it is a highly congested airport. It is the second closest airport with the World Cruise Center in San Pedro (30-45 mins Uber/Lyft to the port).

John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA) offers more airline and flight options than LGB, without being as large as LAX. Of the three airports it is located the furthest distance from the World Cruise Center in San Pedro (45-60 mins Uber/Lyft ride to port).

Cruise Terminal Parking

Overnight parking is available at the World Cruise Center and no reservations are required. Lots are open seven days/week, 24 hours/day. Parking is free for the first hour and $2/hour thereafter with a $20 maximum per day.

ADA compliant courtesy shuttles are provided within the cruise terminal. For additional information call Parking Concepts Inc. at (949)978-0665.

Princess Cruises Travel Tips

Pre-Cruise

Arrive Early:

Arrive early on embarkation day to get settled, explore the ship, and enjoy lunch or a swim while others are still boarding.

Specialty Dining:

Make reservations for specialty dining venues as soon as they're available, especially if you have a specific dining preference or dietary restriction.

Shore Excursions:

Book shore excursions through Princess to guarantee convenience and reliability, as the ship will wait for you if your excursion runs late. Book early as availability is limited.

Drinks Packages:

Consider a drinks package if you'll be drinking frequently, especially as some packages include gratuities and internet.

Medallion:

Your medallion will be used throughout your trip for access and purchases. Princess Cruises typically mails your medallion to you before your cruise. For US guests, the medallion is usually shipped in the mail, while international guests can pick it up at the port. Medallions are designed to arrive about 10 days before your cruise. Princess Cruises provides a complimentary lanyard for carrying your Medallion.

Onboard

Explore the Ship:

Take time to explore the ship, familiarize yourself with the layout, and learn where your stateroom and muster station are located.

Use the Ocean Now App:

Use the Ocean Now app for food and beverage ordering, stateroom requests, and to check your daily schedule.

Embrace the Medallion:

The Medallion is your key to everything on board, including stateroom access, purchases, and even food delivery through the Ocean Now app.

Maximize Room Service:

Take advantage of room service, especially for breakfast, by placing your order with the hanging door card or through the Ocean Now app.

Learn about Tipping:

Understand how tipping works on Princess, especially as gratuities are often included in some packages.

Utilize Self-Serve Laundry:

Utilize the self-serve laundry facility for convenient laundry services.

Princess Patter:

Look for the Princess Patter in your cabin, a newsletter that will tell you when the casino opens, the hours for the health and fitness center, what pool the volleyball game is taking place in, daily tips for cruising, and an hourly listing of all other happenings on board.
